Associate Professor Anatomy & Physiology, STEM

I鈥檓 an Associate Professor teaching Anatomy and Physiology. I maintain high standards in the classroom and lab to prepare my students for future careers in nursing, health science, criminal justice, and various other majors. I bring humor and fun into my course to balance the 鈥済rossness鈥 and hard work needed to succeed. I thrive on seeing the passion and drive glowing from my students. After earning my Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Grinnell College in Iowa, I returned home to Little Rock to earn my Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. My research project used repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to treat tinnitus and measuring the results with electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). When not grossing my students out or serving as an advisor for the Black Student Association, I volunteer and travel. I am on the Board of Directors for Tri-Lakes CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and the Cooperative Christian Ministries Clinic. I also volunteer at the Hot Springs Community Resource Center, for the Arkansas Senior Games, and for the Ms. Arkansas Senior America Pageant. There are only two continents that I have yet to visit: Australia and South America. I enjoy exploring new adventures, cultures, and foods. The beach is my happy place!
