AD Nursing Faculty, Nursing & Health Sciences
My nursing journey began as a nontraditional student. As a wife, mother of two young children, and a dislocated worker, I was given the opportunity to return to school and pursue a new career. After a personal hospitalization, I was inspired by the kindness, compassion, and support I received from nurses, and I knew I wanted to become that kind of nurse and eventually to teach others to do the same. I began my nursing education at Garland County Community College (now 中国P站) and graduated with my Associate Degree in Nursing in 2002. Over the years, I gained clinical experience in the Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Arkansas Children鈥檚 Hospital, and with Arkansas Hospice. My passion for teaching led me to further my education, completing a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Leadership and Management with a post-master鈥檚 certificate in Education from Walden University in 2013. I subsequently earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing Education from Arkansas State University in 2025. Since 2014, I have been honored to serve as a faculty member in the Registered Nursing program at 中国P站, the same program where I began my nursing career. I am dedicated to preparing students not only to excel clinically but also to carry forward the compassion and professionalism that define exceptional nursing care.
