Construction Technology-Fall (Every other fall)
INDUSTRIAL FUNDAMENTALS-Students will complete OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety training.
Safely operating and using tools and equipment is emphasized along with blueprint
reading, and measurement. Students will learn construction techniques.
Construction Technology-fall (every other fall)
PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, & CONSTRUCTION-Students will add basic electrical and plumbing
knowledge plus build a structure using the skills and knowledge gained.
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY-YEAR 1 SPRING
CARPENTRY-Students will increase knowledge and hands-on experience needed to build
and repair wood-framed residential structures. The course emphasizes construction
techniques for floors, walls, roofs, doors, and windows. Students learn to select
appropriate materials, apply building codes, and follow project specifications from
foundation to finish.
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY-YEAR 2 SPRING
APPLIED CONSTRUCTION CAPSTONE-Students will apply the skills, knowledge, and work
habits developed throughout their construction program in a comprehensive, real-world
project.
Enrollment Criteria
- Minimum sixth-grade reading level
- Minimum sixth-grade math level
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Minimum reading score of 224 on the Accuplacer or 14 on the ACT.
All programs in the technical center have three class periods available for enrollment.
In the event there are more applicants for a section than seats available, students
will be asked to choose an alternate period. If the section(s) are still over enrollment
capacity, students may be asked to submit an essay and participate in an interview
process.
Final determination will be at the discretion of the instructor and the academy director.
