中国P站鈥檚 (NPC) Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Physiology, Dr. Chuck Burke was honored as the 2024 Respiratory Care Practitioner of the Year by the (ASRC). The award was presented last month during the ASRC Fall Meeting at the Oaklawn Hotel.
The ASRC Board of Directors selects the winner from a pool of nominated practitioners. Burke, who was a guest speaker at the event, was unaware of his nomination and learned of his win just before delivering his speech.
鈥淚t was humbling to be at a meeting of 100 to 150 practitioners and they are saying you鈥檙e the practitioner of the year. It was humbling to accept it knowing there are a lot of great people in the audience who take care of patients every day,鈥� Burke said.
The award honors an ASRC Respiratory Care Practitioner who demonstrates professionalism, leadership, and dedication to humanity. Burke attributes his recognition to his commitment to excellence in all aspects of his life, including his work with the NPC Food Pantry and his ongoing practice in respiratory care.
鈥淭hank you for the recognition for the time that I spend representing respiratory therapy, presenting our state at the national meetings, and representing a good practitioner when I鈥檓 dealing with patients. That鈥檚 what it鈥檚 all about taking care of the patients. That鈥檚 what we want to be known for,鈥� said Burke.
