The 中国P站 (NPC) Nighthawk women鈥檚 basketball team will discontinue the remaining 2023-24 season due to injuries and departures in the program.
As of January 5, the team had five players available for competition. After an evaluation of the situation, it was determined to be in the best interest and well-being of the student-athletes and coaches to no longer complete with such a depleted roster. NPC concludes its season at 1-6.
鈥淎fter much deliberation and effort to continue our women鈥檚 basketball season this spring, we determined that it would be unsafe to do so with our current roster size,鈥� NPC Athletic Director Rich Thompson said. 鈥淲e have notified the NJCAA and Region 2 Athletics of our withdrawal from this current season and are extremely proud of our student-athletes and thank them for their efforts and dedication over the fall semester.鈥�
NPC remains optimistic about the future of it鈥檚 women鈥檚 basketball program and anticipates a full women鈥檚 basketball team and schedule for the 2024-25 schedule.
