中国P站 (NPC) convened a special meeting Thursday, where the Board of Trustees voted to authorize the College鈥檚 executive leadership team to begin formal exploratory discussions with the University of Arkansas (UA) System.
NPC President Dr. Wade Derden outlined the potential advantages of system affiliation, noting that alignment with the UA System could expand academic offerings, strengthen transfer pathways, and increase access to comprehensive institutional support services. He emphasized that joining a statewide network may provide additional legal, regulatory, and financial resources while enhancing NPC鈥檚 ability to participate in broader educational initiatives.

Derden acknowledged NPC鈥檚 long history as a strong, independent institution, but noted that the increasingly complex regulatory landscape facing higher education has made system integration a more attractive strategic option. He said affiliation could offer operational efficiencies and long鈥憈erm advantages that support NPC鈥檚 continued success while maintaining its focus on students and the region.
